
With over twenty years as a business consultant and thirty years experience of being involved in running my own businesses, I have gained a great deal of knowledge. That knowledge has centred mainly around business start ups and working with SMEs (small to medium sized enterprises). My key knowledge and abilities are in sales, marketing, dealing with people, strategic planning, motivating staff and customer service. I have also had a great deal of experience in financial planning (but not accountancy!). I freely admit; I have very little knowledge in production or IT.
The keys to business success are planning, marketing and sales, and ensuring that the cash is readily available. If you then have the right people in place who are well trained and motivated, and you are passionate about the business, then the business will succeed. (This assumes that you have the right product/ service for the market you want to reach and that you remain innovative!)
Running a business can often be lonely; many business owners are so busy fire fighting that they don’t have time to step back and consider where they are going. My work is to stand alongside you and bring fresh ideas, maybe a little order and to share from my own experiences. Often to make a massive difference, it only takes a few adjustments and a couple of fresh ideas; it is rarely wholesale changes that are needed. Everything is easier when others are working with you.
